Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the closure of borders, the Turkish Information Technology and Communications Administration made concessions to foreign citizens who use their imported phones.
Turkish Government Gazette Resmi Gazete issued an updated decree to increase the term of use of a mobile phone IMEI number unregistered in the system from 120 to 365 days.
From the moment of entry into the country, the IMEI of foreign phones are added to the "gray list" and such devices can be used for a year. After the expiration of this period, IMEIs are included in the "black list" and the use of such phones is impossible (except for calling the emergency service 112).
Recall that from January 1, 2021, registration in the system and the introduction of the IMEI phone number in the Turkish database ("white list") will cost 2006 liras.
