The number of people in Turkey receiving the first dose of the novel coronavirus vaccine surpassed 1 million as of Thursday.

In the first phase of the vaccination rollout, more than 1,1 million citizens have been vaccinated, including more than 980 medical workers, as well as residents and staff of the country's nursing homes.

The vaccination phase for people over 85 began on Thursday. Elderly people do not need to visit medical institutions to receive an injection, since doctors independently come home and vaccinate.
