Turkey at the state level is negotiating the return of Russian tourists in July, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the Association of Tour Operators of the Russian Federation.
According to Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Ersoy, the Turkish side is negotiating with three states - Russia, Great Britain and Germany. Possible options for the return of tourists from these countries in the summer are being discussed.
“We expect that tourists will actively come from all three countries,” the minister said.
According to expectations and forecasts, the intensity of inbound tourism will begin to increase from mid-July.
Earlier, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu made a statement that there are many people in Russia and other countries who want to relax in Turkey, however, when making a decision, the authorities will take into account the epidemiological situation, data on the number of infected and deaths from coronavirus infection in each state ... At the same time, health and tourism workers will be provided with data on health protection measures in hotels, resort areas and airports.
At the same time, Turkish experts believe that it is still impossible to make any long-term forecasts. In their opinion, at first regular flights can be launched, and, after some time, charter flights. Everything will depend on the situation with the coronavirus. Unlike European countries, Russia is still going through difficult times in the fight against COVID-19.
Nevertheless, experts are confident that as soon as the Russian Federation opens its borders, the flow of tourists to Turkey will recover very quickly.
