Edition Bloomberg Yesterday came out with a sensational material telling about the future production of the Russian vaccine "Sputnik V" by the Turkish company VisCoran.

As the newspaper notes, the owner of the pharmaceutical company VisCoran Ilac Sanayii AS is the closest associate of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the chairman of the board of Vakif Katilim bank and since last week the head of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO) Ozturk Oran.

Bloomberg says VisCoran and RDIF signed an agreement on August 16, 2020, long before the Sputnik V vaccine was 91,6% effective in Phase III trials.

Oran noted in one of his interviews that his company VisCoran does not have the capacity to mass produce the vaccine, so the bulk of the work is likely to be outsourced to one of the few Turkish pharmaceutical firms that has the technical capabilities to do this.
