The tourist season in Turkey will begin in April, Russian guests are expected in the country for the May holidays, said the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the republic, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy.
According to the ministry, about 2,13 million Russians visited the country's resorts in 2020. At the end of the year, travelers from the Russian Federation became leaders in the number of foreigners vacationing in this state.
“Our goal is to start the summer season in April. It will not open immediately, but gradually, starting from the Mediterranean Sea and then spreading to the Aegean. First of all, we expect tourists from European countries,” Ersoy said.
He noted that guests from Russia are expected in Turkey from the end of April, where the May holidays will begin, and from mid-May - from the locals, after the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
