President Erdogan informed citizens about measures to counter the spread of a new type of coronavirus (Covid-19)
The epidemic of a new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) has assumed the proportions of a pandemic and Turkey is fighting this global problem at the national level.
This is stated in a letter from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, sent out on Wednesday to the citizens of the country.
The Turkish authorities are taking all the necessary measures, have used all the necessary levers to combat the pandemic that threatens the health of the nation, Erdogan said.
The Turkish leader noted that thanks to the reforms of the past 18 years, Turkey is among the countries most prepared for the novel coronavirus pandemic.
According to the head of state, Turkey has a truly large-scale "army" of doctors: 165 doctors and 205 nurses.
A total of 490 thousand medical staff and 360 thousand people in auxiliary positions are involved in the system of the Ministry of Health, Erdogan said.
“There is no such threat, no such virus that could resist the might of Turkey,” Erdogan stressed.
